Day# 7: Things I am Grateful For

Day #7: I am grateful for my job

Like most people I tend to complain every so often about my co-workers, my daily tasks, or the fact that I have to go to work in the morning, however, I would rather have those things in my life than be without a job at all.  Secretly, someday I hope to be a mom that can work from home or be a full-time mother.  However, in the world today where the economy is still not doing so well, its good to have a job to go to and a paycheck in my hand every two weeks.

Pinterest

Have you heard of Pinterest.com before? My roommate got me hooked on this site a week ago and it has recently become an obsession of mine.  If you love blogs, surfing websites, and finding cooking sites you will love pinterest.

Its a virtual pinboard that creates a collection of your favorite things from blogs, websites, and magazines.

With a few clicks to set up the account you can begin pinning and repinning.  It keeps all of my finds from the internet into one account categorized nicely on my boards.  I love having all of my thoughts, ideas, and interests in one place.  Its so easy to connect what I love into one place.

Week #2 Challenge

Well, the first challenge week is over, and I have to say I wasn't able to stay true to the challenge every night.  4 nights I was great at it, however, 3 of the nights I may have slipped up.  It is definitely something I want to try and implement in my life more (reading before bed) but I have a feeling, I will still fall asleep to the TV every so often.

Week #2 Challenge: Flossing Every Day

I realized tonight when I was getting ready for bed that despite the lecture from my dentist I haven't been flossing at all.  This week's challenge is to floss once a day.  Silly, I know, but this is something I hope to keep up after this week.

Day #5 & Day #6 Things I am Grateful For

Yesterday was a little hectic for me and I missed posting my grateful things, so today I will be posting two things I am grateful for.

Day #5: I am grateful for springtime

Yesterday I joined up with some friends for a baseball game.  Nothing says spring like heading to the ballpark.  Although we did get to experience every type of weather out there: Sunshine, rain, wind, and hail.  I love spending time outside and despite the crazy weather, we all had a great time.

Day #6: I am grateful for telephones

This week I was able to catch up with my grandmothers, grandpa, parents, and my friends.  Without telephones I wouldn't get that instant feeling of happiness that comes from a great conversation with you loved ones.  I am so happy to have the opportunity to quickly pick up the phone and talk to those I miss the most.

April Fools Day

I have never been a huge fan of April Fools Day.  It must be because I am a completely gullible person as it is, so an entire day where people are trying to play jokes on me, just usually ends up in me very confused.

In lieu of the day, I figured I would make a list of some places/professionals that should never play April Fools Jokes:

1. A funeral home
2. The priest in the confessional
3. A police officer
4. An HIV testing facility
5. Your Gyno
6. A Surgeon during surgery
7. Your boss during your yearly review
8. SAT exam results
9. Pregnancy Test Results
10. Mother Nature

Any other people or places you can think of?

Day #4: Things I am grateful for

Its Friday!

Besides being grateful for it being Friday...

Day #4: I am grateful for having a roof over my head

I have noticed myself complaining about a lot of little things in life lately.  However, no matter what trouble I run into, no matter what kind of job I have held, I have always been able to have a roof over my head and a bed to keep me warm at night.

I am truly thankful for this and it does break my heart to walk past those on the streets that do not have the luxury to go to a home at night.  I am blessed in many ways, from the roof over my head to the food I eat each day.

Workout

Well folks, after talking about working out, planning to work out and buying a gym membership I finally went and did it last night.  My community was hosting a free fitness class at our local community house and after twisting my roommate and her friend's arm they went along with me.  To our surprise it was not so much a taught class, but more of an "instructor" putting in a video and the rest of us (including her) following along.  It was intense for me though.  My heart rate was up within 5 seconds and by the end of class I feared I might actually die of a heart attack.

I felt good though.  After finally catching my breath and realizing that I am TOO FAT for life anymore I really want to shed this excess weight.  Life might be a little easier without the extra 70 lbs of fat I am holding onto.  Yes, I am hoping to make it to my gym tonight for another workout.  This time just on my own.

After class the instructor brought out some of her shakes for us to try.  She is a Beachbody instructor which means she promotes many fitness videos and Shakeology.  I had heard of it once before but promised myself I would not get sucked in to buying a product as I have many times before.  However, i have to admit.  The shake was DELICIOUS.  The concept is to replace one meal with a shake to help in weight loss, keeping you regular, and dropping your cholesterol.  Our instructor not only let us sample it in class but she gave us a free packet to try at home.  I had mine for breakfast this morning and still agree its delicious.  I don't know if I could finish an entire serving in one setting, but I drank about half of it.

Cost of the Shakes are about $120 for 30 servings.  Most Shakeology users generally have 1 - 2 shakes daily, which can really add up in cost.  Is it worth it? Right now I can't financially afford to buy Shakeology but it definitely was delicious.
